Creativity releases stress and calms emotions because the process brings positive energy into our minds and bodies. It is a powerful tool that helps raise our awareness above the upsets, frustrations, and responsibilities of our daily routine.

Whether caring for a family or facing our fears alone, we sometimes experience challenges daily. We may have accidents or illnesses, breakups in relationships, or demanding jobs that tighten our muscles and give us pounding headaches.
Yet, I have found that taking the time to work on a creative project can calm my nerves and clear my mind.
Can creativity release stress and calm emotions?

There are several ways in which you can release stress. Certainly, meditation, mindfulness, and talk therapy can be very helpful in gaining peace of mind.
In addition, the process that combines meditation and mindfulness is participating in a creative endeavor. For instance, I have found that writing, drawing, painting, and photography allow me to focus on bringing positive energy into my mind and body.
Creativity releases stress by opening the flow of Cosmic energy that creates all things.
Even the simplest creative project can make a huge difference in your life. Even if you take a few minutes drawing, sculpting with some clay, adding color to a coloring book, writing, or putting together a puzzle, you are giving yourself a time-out with an obvious result. Above all, you engage with the world around you when doing crafts, playing an instrument, singing, dancing, stretching, or taking photos. Your focus on one enjoyable endeavor is when creativity releases stress.
Here are 5 Ways Creativity Releases Stress in Your Life
1. First and foremost, you are a creator! Therefore, you embody the energy of creation.

Every concept and belief you hold activates the thoughts you think. As a result, those thoughts vibrate and set energy-in-motion (e-motion). Consequently, your emotions stimulate decisions and actions. The effect of your choices and actions plays out in your life!
You will benefit greatly when asking for guidance from a higher source of wisdom that surrounds and protects you.
Your mind can use the energy of creation for healing and constructive purposes, or you can use that same energy to become damaging and destructive. That is to say, your intention, decisions, concentration, and focus make a difference in who you are and what you do. Creativity releases stress and calms emotions, which allows you to tune into higher frequencies of energy where inspiration and imagination intertwine.

2. As a natural creator, you participate in the universal patterns of creation.
Your concepts and beliefs affect and set the stage for events and activities in your life. Your underlying descriptions of reality generate thoughts, which activate your emotions that lead to actions. Those actions become your reality…your life.
3. It is important to slow down the process and consider what you truly want and need in your life.
Think outside of the box, beyond what you consider “normal,” and imagine the life of your dreams. Relax into your personal, powerful, spiritual connection to the source of creation.
4. Creativity connects you to that Source of Creation.
Imagine activities and the type of people who would bring you feelings of love, joy, and contentment. Write what you see as you create a new or improved version of yourself and your reality. (Read the story about making a list: Manifest Abundance in All Areas of Your Life.)

5. Connecting with the power of creation heals you physically, mentally, and emotionally.
When you connect with your Higher Self and Universal Consciousness, that energy flows through you and begins to heal all parts of you.
You can experience creativity in many forms.
Perhaps, like many others, you may think you have no creative ability. Many people say they aren’t artistic, “I can’t even draw a straight line!”
I ask: How does a straight line relate to being creative?!?
Look around you in nature. Are there a lot of straight lines? Of course not. When was the last time you tried to draw anything? Have you ever taken the time to write a poem or a short story? Do you allow yourself to pick up crayons, watercolor, oil paints, or acrylics to create a picture you drew or to color one in a coloring book? When was the last time you sang a song or danced to your favorite music? Why not do it now?
Maybe, you can express yourself through sculpting clay, metal, plastic, or wood. Or perhaps, you’d enjoy writing a story, a book, or a poem? You can shoot photos or videos, get your hands wet with pottery, play a musical instrument, sing, dance, garden, or bake pastries that delight your guests.
The time to be creative is now! Why? Because you are a creator!
