It is delightful to be interviewed as an author by reviewers such as @bookss.paradise on Instagram. I love having the opportunity to share my journey and ideas about writing and publishing.
Q- Could you please introduce yourself?
I am Dr. Verlaine Crawford, an International Best-Selling Author, Inspirational Speaker, Visionary, and Intuitive Transformational Consultant. In 1987, I opened to other dimensions and began receiving messages of wisdom and love. In 1992, I was invited to teach workshops and do personal life readings that have continued through the years in Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Bali, Germany, France, Italy, and the U.S.

For over forty years, I was intuitively guided through a dynamic career as a marketing executive and consultant for a variety of businesses and the Fortune 500. In 1994, I founded High Castle Publishing.
I have written six books, and in 2023 I wrote and published The Power of Wholeness: Discover a More Fulfilling, Successful, and Rewarding Life and Endless Shades of the Mystical Rose: A Poetic Personal Journal of Life and Love.

Q- When did you write your first book and what is the idea behind that?
My first book is Ending the Battle Within: How to Create a Harmonious Life Working with Your Subpersonalities. The idea behind it was to share how we can end the battle of voices within our heads and enjoy a more peaceful life. I shared what I have learned about how our thoughts create our reality (before the Law of Attraction was a general concept). I then went beyond the concept of simply stating what you want. I began investigating why we don’t always receive what we desire.
The book explains how to change how we see ourselves and truly understand that our beliefs dictate what we think. Our thoughts activate our emotions, which lead to decisions and actions that create our lives. Ending the Battle Within was written to help bring together our subpersonalities who hold opposing beliefs. It was the beginning of sharing the Infusion Integration Process, which was explained in full in my fifth book, The Power of Wholeness.
Q- How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I have written six books. I truly can’t choose a favorite. I love each for what they are meant to do. They are:

Q- How long, on average, does it take you to write a book?
I would say six months to a year.
Q- Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
I have many questions and am endlessly curious about how our beliefs and ideas create our lives and about our connection to other dimensions, the metaphysical world of spirit. In my long marketing career, I have studied many religions, psychology, philosophy, and spiritual masters and observed the behavior of all types of people. My books are about answering those questions and sharing what I have learned about life and the spiritual world to help others have a more fulfilling, successful, rewarding, and joyful life.
Q- What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
I have spent my life reading, going to classes, watching videos, and researching the topics mentioned above along with what I call the Four Cornerstones of Life: Health, Wealth, Love, and Self-Expression. When writing, I often pick up recent data and new concepts in spiritual teachers, science, medicine, relationships, and the arts to update what I know and add statistics or relevant information.
Q- What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I became open to other dimensions in 1987 and discovered I could channel an amazing Angelic Being I call Ixaca. (Name of origin is Terrell.) So, often when writing I will receive additional, expansive information and ways of structuring sentences from Ixaca. An example was when a magazine in Australia asked me to answer some very difficult questions about the origin of humans, our DNA, and much more. I couldn’t imagine how to begin to answer. So, I brought in Ixaca, and he/she typed page after page of answers. I guess that is a quirk. Q- What types of questions do you ask yourself when planning a new book?
I ask questions that I want answered. Who are we? Why are we here? What are the best ways to create our reality? What can we do to establish a more significant understanding of and connection with Universal Consciousness/God/Goddess/All That Is?
Q- What is your work schedule like when you are writing?
I usually like to write in the afternoon into the evening. I am busy consulting with people, making videos, appearing on podcasts, cooking, baking, gardening, and photography, so I try to balance all that I do. I like to schedule many hours at a time for whatever I am pursuing that day because I don’t like to start and stop whatever project I am working on. It’s nice to create flow and a feeling similar to mindfulness or meditation in each type of endeavor.
Q- Does your family support your career as a writer?
Yes! Definitely! But my dear partner John does tell me to take breaks. I must say that I haven’t made a great deal of money, yet, from my books, but I love writing regardless. My writing served me well in my marketing career.
Q- What does your family think of your writing?
I have always received great support from my family. I have had a very successful marketing career where I applied my writing, so they liked that I was “gainfully employed.”
Q- What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?
I haven’t spent money on writing per se, but I have spent money on promotion. We need to promote, market, and advertise our books, or no one will know they exist.
Q- What would you say is your strength as a writer?
My strength is a strong grasp of sentence structure, grammar, and natural flow, and I never seem to run out of ideas. Also, I love Grammarly. It is a marvelous tool.
Q- What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
I learned to self-publish. I do the layout, cover, and photography for each book, and put it up on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other websites. The biggest project I have done was editing and publishing my partner, John Teressi’s 400-page fantasy, adventure novel “Portals in Time: The Quest for Un-Old-Age.” I entered the book in contests, and we won twelve book awards in fiction, science-fiction, fantasy, inspiration, New Age, and more! That was a wonderful surprise. I also won an award for “Ending the Battle Within” from Body, Mind, Spirit Magazine, and my latest books are entered in competitions.
Q- What is your favorite part of being a writer?
I love to communicate! I enjoy sharing my ideas, massaging sentences, editing for better clarity, laying out the book, and publishing! I get very excited when the finished book is in my hands!
