What is Love? Love is the glue of the Universe. Everything and everyone is held together in form by the Magical Power of Love…the loving energy you can receive, feel, and express.
Universal Love is the Creative Force of the Universe. It is truth, peace, joy, and a celebration of life. We call it God, the Source, All That is, and many different names worldwide for the Creator.
Are you willing to allow yourself to receive and distribute the Magical Power of Love to those around you? Are you ready to release the past so you can stand fully in the present and live in Love?
What is Love to You?
“What is Love?” This is a question not normally asked since it is assumed that we know the answer. We normally think of Love as an intense feeling of caring about another human. When we profess our love to others, we usually don’t think about what we are saying or what it means to Love. We dismiss the question. We might feel a deep connection, or perhaps we use the word love to capture the heart of someone who can give us what we need and want. There are many levels of love to explore.
Feeling Love is Not Always Easy
For someone to admit, “I have never really loved anyone or felt loved,” might be one of the sadder confessions you could hear.
You could ask that person, “You must have felt love or at least caring for someone, perhaps a friend, a pet, or something!” And they shake their head, No.
You wonder, how can this be? There are many answers to why someone has not experienced love. For instance, they may not have received or witnessed loving behavior as a child, or they experienced negative responses in school, at work, or elsewhere. Like rescue animals, we need to learn about love by feeling warmth and care from another person.

What Blocks Love?
Many of us long for recognition, understanding, and intimacy. What stops us from recognizing, understanding, and sharing our deepest thoughts and dreams?
Unfortunately, the idea of opening our inner selves or even looking at ourselves is one of our greatest fears. That fear is based on the concept that we are not enough, we are flawed, and therefore, not acceptable as we are.
How Do We Release the Fear of Intimacy?
As we shift our judgment and shower ourselves with unconditional Love and acceptance, the doors to closeness and intimacy with others open. Consequently, we become free to live in love and friendship with our fellow human beings.
There Are Many Types of Love
Love describes the feeling of caring, respect, appreciation, and consideration for others. It is even used to refer to how we feel about various activities, physical items, and nature’s bounty. Here are some of the various types of love.

Infatuation
Infatuation is often confused with love. Unfortunately, infatuation is often a fantasy that is an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone or something. An individual suspends all reason and thinks they are in love by creating a mythology around the one they “love.” Infatuation can be described as a crush, captivation, passion, madness, puppy love, folly, fascination, attachment, or craze.
Affection
Affection. This is a type of love in which we express deep fondness, tenderness, or warmth. This could be love for a neighbor’s child, a distant relative, a coworker, or someone we care about but don’t often see. This love could also be for nature: plants, animals, birds, and water creatures.
Love for an Activity or Experience
Love for an activity such as a certain hobby, sport, or art. This usually means we have a great interest, a liking, a delight, and a passion for an experience. For example, I love writing, gardening, and oil painting.
Romantic, Life Partnership Love for Another Person

Love for another person close to us. When we express this personal love, we hold the other very dear. We think the world of them, cherish, treasure, and are devoted to that individual. This can be love for a personal relationship, a family member, a person we hold in high regard, and often a pet we feel is a part of the family.

Compassion
Love in the form of compassion reflects empathy and sympathy. We feel concerned, and offer condolences, sensitivity, tenderness, and commiseration. Moreover, genuine compassion goes a step further, we get involved. When others keep their distance from those suffering, compassion prompts us to act on their behalf.
Agape – Spiritual Love

Agape is the highest level of love. It is a Greek word that describes a Love that is selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional. “The love of God for mankind and of mankind for God”. Agape embraces a profound, sacrificial love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance.
True, Unconditional Love of Another Person Must Include Freedom.
When you are comfortable spending time alone and caring about yourself, you are then capable of loving, sharing, and going into the deepest core of another person without possessing the other.
You can love without becoming dependent on that person. You can care without reducing the person to something you must have to be happy. And you can love without becoming addicted to the other.
If you can love and allow absolute freedom, you will know that if the other leaves, you will be as happy as you are now. Your happiness cannot be taken away, because your love and happiness flow through you.
Could There Be a Deeper, Magical Power of Love?
Yes, there is a much deeper and wider magical power of Love that is available to each of us! That is the Universal Love of the Creative Force of the Universe. Therefore, that Love and Universal Consciousness create and permeate all things.
LOVE is the GLUE of the Universe. It holds everything together and spins the elements in the atom to create oceans and streams, rocks and forests, mountains and valleys, and all living beings. The answer to every question is Love!

How Do You Reach this Magnificent Universal Love?
You do not need to reach for this Love because it is within you. Love is manifesting you every milli-second of the day and night. You are that Magical Power of Love! It is bubbling up in every cell of your body!
You might ask, “If that is true, why don’t I feel Love? Why do I get sick, angry, fearful, hateful, and feel so alone?”
The reason you do not feel love is that you are blocking the flow of Love within you. When you hold onto the upsets, injustices, pain, fearful events, and negative memories of the past (a minute ago, two days, or years gone by), you are stopping the flow of the creative, healing, and reparative energy of this ever-powerful Love that permeates all things.
When you are free of your negative mindset, you become a loving person; you love easily. Feeling loved and loving are natural functions when your mind and heart are clear of the debris of the past.
Why is Love So Powerful? Because Love is God, Truth, and The Creative Force of the Universe!
In my understanding, God is not a person. God is a loving presence that permeates all things. It is the Magical Power of Love that lives within you, through you, and swirls throughout the entire Cosmos. When you look at the trillions of stars and billions of galaxies in the night sky, you are witnessing a grand display of forces beyond all understanding.
Likewise, if you look through a micron microscope at the human body with billions of cells, you realize that, again, we are experiencing a grand mystery. Yes, science is becoming clearer on function and purpose, but the mystery lies in the how and why of such amazing creations that we witness every day.
The Key to Launching the Power of Love
There are many ways to experience the deep power of love. My experience of feeling that love came at a time of exploration and reflection in my young life. At the age of twenty-five, I was exploring Europe and found myself in the wondrous city of Florence, Italy. (I had received $2500 from an insurance company after being hit from behind by a car on a stopped freeway. In 1968, one could travel on $5 per day, including food, hotel, and transportation!)
This revelation began when I was walking in the courtyard of the Medici Gallery. I passed a darling, young man who greeted me in English, and we stopped to converse. He invited me to dinner, and it was delightful to spend time with him. We only dated for a few days, yet I felt love for him in that short time.
In Rome, I Allowed the Magic of Love to Fill Me
We parted, and he went to attend to business with his father. Consequently, I departed on the train for Rome. A few days later, as I walked by the Trevi Fountain, I looked up at the sky with an immense feeling of joy and happiness bubbling up from within and filling my heart.

I didn’t know if my relationship would ever be more than infatuation with my new friend in Florence, but I wanted to keep the feeling of love, joy, and happiness for the rest of my life. I wanted the excitement of feeling the magical power of love to be lasting and fulfilling.
An Idea Came to Me
Then an idea came to me, “Fall in Love with Life! Take the first step to a new, joyful future! Fall in love with life and fall in love with you! Feel your love for yourself. Absorb the deep caring and hold yourself dearly. Cherish, treasure, devote yourself to yourself, and send that love into the world!
This idea reminded me of what Mother Teresa responded when asked how she could help and feed so many people. She answered, “I feed myself first.” So, feed yourself first. Feed yourself the food of love for your soul!
There is also a wonderful quote from a gentleman in an English movie, “When you fall in love with yourself, you begin a lifelong love affair!”
And another quote from Louise L. Hay, “Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.”
When you learn to love yourself unconditionally,
the universe will conspire to love you blissfully. — Debasish Mridha
The Unconditional Love of the Universe Flows through Us
Surprisingly, at that moment in Rome, I closed my eyes and let the amazing Unconditional Love of the Universe flow through my heart! As a result, I must say that even though much has happened since then, which has been challenging in my life, Love is always there when I turn to it. Love is there waiting for me to forgive myself for my mistakes and to let go of past experiences that no longer serve me.
Love is waiting inside you! Fall in Love with Life! Each morning, greet the sun with a smile! (Whether you feel like it or not!)
Quiet your mind and open your heart to see or visualize flowers and trees, the sun lighting the landscape, and birds and fish following the flow of their life patterns. Fall in Love with Life, and your life will be full of Love!
